One of the greatest rewards of my work at Prairie View A&M University has been the opportunity to be in contact with so many alumni like yourself. I continue to think about you and your success as a distinguished graduate. The Office for Alumni Relations is always open to alumni and friends of the University. It is our pleasure to make you feel at home and to reminiscence about the special place that we fondly know as Prairie View.

As alumni, I know that you would also like to join me in welcoming the new class of students who have decided on Praire View as their choice for college. These students in the years ahead will join the ranks of sucessful alumni as engineers, physicians, health care professsionals, scientists, educators, advocates, information technology experts, researchers, professional athletes, entrepreneurs, writers and artists. To our continuing students, we wish you the very best in your pursuit of excellence in undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral studies.

The Office for Alumni Relations offers the following services:

The Director for Alumni Relations serves as University liaison to the Prairie View A&M University National Alumni Association

Attends quarterly Executive Board Meetings of the National Alumni Association

Represents the Office for Alumni Relations at official National Alumni Association special functions to include banquets, luncheons, alumni class meetings, homecoming activities, recognition programs and other events

Serves as the University liaison in nurturing and building relationships with alumni reunion classes including the fiftieth year classes

Works in partnership with the Prairie View A&M University National Alumni Association in publishing an Alumni Directory, every 5 years

Maintains an open door policy for alumni and friends of the university

Identifies and nominates alumni to national organizations for the purpose of recognizing the accomplishments of PVAMU’s alumni in the arts, business/industry, community service, education, entertainment, government/law, medicine, science, and for lifetime achievement. The Office for Alumni Relations works in partnership with the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education, the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame and the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund National Alumni Council.

Publishes an alumni magazine.

Maintains Alumni Relations Web site, the Alumni HUB (www.pvamu.edu ). This vehicle enables the Alumni Relations Office to update alumni records, to inform alumni about special programs and events at the University and to recognize distinguished graduates

Represents the Alumni Relations Office on the Capital Campaign Cabinet

Collaborates with professionals, in similar offices, for the purpose of sharing challenges and opportunities in higher education alumni relations
